The United States began as a nation of 13 states. These were the colonies which had broken away from Great Britain in 1776 and fought a six- year War Independence. The original 13 colonies were then located in the area today occupied by 16 states and 34 other states were admitted to union one by one.

Washington, in the District of Columbia, is the national capital. It was named in honor of George Washington, the 1-st US president. The whole country west of the original 13 states was surveyed in regular blocks, a mile square. This way of dividing the land is reflected in the borders of the states.

My dream town

There are so many beautiful places and towns in the world. We
can see some of them but we don't have a chance to visit all of
them. So lot of people watch documentary films about these
countries or read some books. They are interested more in those
countries they can't see. My home town is very interesting but I
would like to speak about London because it's more attractive for
me. Sometimes in the future I would like to visit it.
London, the capital of England and of Great Britain, is an
exciting city. It's a city of traditions, historic buildings,
monuments, theatres, parks and interesting museums.

Another place of interest for visitors to London is Buckigham
Palace, the London residence of the British royal family. Every
day at 11:30 the Queen's Gard in full dress uniform perform the
ceremony of changing the Guard at Buckingham Palace. Their
uniforms are very attractive.

The United Kingdom consists of three constituent countries – England, Scotland, and Wales – on the island of Great Britain, and the province of Northern Ireland. It was formed through successive Acts of Union, of Wales, Scotland and Ireland with England. The Irish Republic separated in 1922. The UK has been a major colonial and world power, and the cradle of the industrial revolution in the 18th and 19th centuries. Its empire gave place to the British Commonwealth in the 20th century. British society has become multi-cultural because of immigration from the former colonies.

Why do people emigrate?

I think that people emigrate because of their travels around the country wines or to condemn. And therefore, they deal with such situations of migration. Generally, all states emigrants found, but others are even freedom. But I also support this situation, because I know that against them.
