LACROSSE
•	Lacrosse originated among the Iroquois Indians in America and Canada.
•	There are two teams with ten (male) or twelve (female) players. The players use sticks with a net that can catch a ball. They try to score goals . Only the goalkeeper can touch the ball.
•	Lacrosse became Canada's national game in 1867.

FOOTBALL
•	Football is probably the world's most popular sport. The modern game of football originated in Britain in the nineteenth century. Professional football started in 1885.
•	In 1871 the Football Association in Britain introduced the FA Cup. It is the oldest football competition in the world.
•	The first World Cup competition was in 1930 . It takes place every four years.

POLO
•	Polo originated in Persia in ancient times.
•	The Modern game of polo was popular in India in the nineteenth century and British soldiers in India at that time learned to play it. When they ruterned home, they brought polo with them. The first game in Britain was in 1869.
•	There are two teams for four people on horses. They try to hit a small ball into a goal with a stick called a mallet.
